Gold Patterned Wedding Rings

- A wedding ring or wedding band is a metal ring indicating the wearer is married. Depending on the local culture, it is worn on the base of the right or the left ring finger. The custom of wearing such a ring has spread widely beyond its origin in Europe.
- Don't get this confused with Engagement Rings. Engagement Rings are usually just a solitaire ring, i.e. One stone. The wedding ring is the complimentary band that accompanies that solitaire ring. Decorated in many different styles, and usually consisting of a lot more diamonds, either paved or set.

patterned titanium wedding band
This is another variation on my earlier titanium band. In this one, the main difference is that the titanium has been impressed with the sunflower pattern that I use in much of my work.
I love the way this ring turned out. It is a perfect combination of its minimalist more industrial predecessor, and the floral patterned sterling and gold rings that started me down this path. At first glance this ring looks very simple, with the main feature being the contrasts between the different metals used. But upon closer inspection, you can see the subtle textures of the sunflower pattern. This is the ring for someone who wants something between traditional and a more subdued personal expression.
This ring is 1/4" wide and a size 7. It is made from sterling silver, titanium, and 14k gold.

These bands were made by me and my finacee for our wedding. My fiancee, who has made jewelry in the past, made the pattern on the mokume-- starting with a flat sheet of 19 layers of alternating sterling silver and copper. When she finished creating the mokume, I took over, making the finished ring.
